Welcome to the BlogAboutGod!

This blog is all about God! His character, His promises, His love, His grace, His mercy, and His Son, Jesus Christ. It's a place to learn, ask questions, write the truth about His word, communicate with fellow believers and a way for those who want to learn all they can about our awesome Creator of the Universe and how He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for you and me and save us from our sin. Please be mindful of what you write and ask and let your words always honor the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you are lost and without hope, you can find it here. If you are discouraged with the things the world offers and want something real, you can find it here. If you feel alone and no really cares or understands you, you can find the One who created you here. If you feel like God can never forgive you for the things you have done, you will learn the Truth that He can-- right here. I pray that God will bless what I write so that the hearts of all who read this blog are touched by His grace. I give all the honor and praise to Jesus our Savior. Amen!

Scripture for the day!

Hi all--I know it's been a week since my last post--wow!! Worked 72 hours this past week--so not much time for anything else:( Anyway, time for a new Scripture today! Talked about prayer today in church--and Pastor Jim worded it -- how as believers we need to create a "culture" of prayer in our lives and community.

Based on Ephesians 6: 18-20, Paul gives us three important insights into how, what, and who we should pray for. The Scripture reads; " 18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should.
1) Paul exhorts us to pray at all times in the Spirit: this does not mean with emotion as some translate this verse. It means to pray in truth; to come to a place of repentance for transformation to take place-to confess and speak Scripture in faith. 2) Next, Paul teaches us to pray with perseverance for all the saints. We are supposed to pray for fellow believers; to intercede on their behalf, just as Jesus intercedes for us; to pray over them healing, faith, mercy for the unbeliever. 3) Lastly, Paul asks that they pray for him to be bold when he preaches the Gospel; believers should pray for those who preach the Gospel that they are able to preach it with boldness. We must pray for boldness and never be ashamed of the truth of the Gospel.
If we are praying at all times for these things, we are living in a culture of prayer. There is nothing more important in our walk with the Lord.
Pastor Tommy-my pastor from Ridgeview also taught us how we should pray for people esp. the lost--by name. This is very powerful.
Let us create a culture of prayer by following these teachings and watch the power of God move in our lives and in the lives of those we are praying for! AMEN!
