Welcome to the BlogAboutGod!

This blog is all about God! His character, His promises, His love, His grace, His mercy, and His Son, Jesus Christ. It's a place to learn, ask questions, write the truth about His word, communicate with fellow believers and a way for those who want to learn all they can about our awesome Creator of the Universe and how He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for you and me and save us from our sin. Please be mindful of what you write and ask and let your words always honor the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you are lost and without hope, you can find it here. If you are discouraged with the things the world offers and want something real, you can find it here. If you feel alone and no really cares or understands you, you can find the One who created you here. If you feel like God can never forgive you for the things you have done, you will learn the Truth that He can-- right here. I pray that God will bless what I write so that the hearts of all who read this blog are touched by His grace. I give all the honor and praise to Jesus our Savior. Amen!

Scripture for the day!

Hey everyone:)
Did my first service as worship leader in my new church this morning! Praise God it went well! Two people gave their lives to Christ-Hallelujah! Pastor Jim talked about greatness today. We are in the book of Nehemiah and he is focusing on the greatness of Nehemiah's leadership in building the wall; that it is a "great work" for the LORD and how "great" the LORD is to give him the power to complete the wall. Lots of life lessons in that for me. I want to build a "great" worship team to praise our "great" God and fulfill his calling for me in a manner of "greatness". I want to complete my schooling with "greatness" and finish the race well! And I am counting on God to heal the relationship with my daughter in a "great" and healthy way! What are you doing in your life that you can work on to achieve greatness and trust the LORD to help you complete? Whether it is waitressing, working on a construction site, taking care of your children, or managing others in the marketplace, etc. God wants us to do our very best and trust in Him for the results. We serve an awesome and GREAT God! We must honor Him by doing everything we do in a manner of "greatness"!
Nehemiah 6: 3 is Nehemiah's response to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem and other enemies about not being sidetracked or drawn away from the task God called him to do. It reads: "So I replied by sending this message to them; "I am engaged in a great work, so I can't come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?" Nehemiah understood that his task from God was of "great" importance and nothing should take precedence over that!
Thank you, God for the lessons in the book of Nehemiah! Help us all to learn from this and live it out in our daily tasks and everything we do! AMEN!

Scripture for the day!

Hello everyone--
It was a really hard week last week. First with Angel and then working alot and not sleeping, then there was a very serious situation with my oldest daughter, and then I was sick over the weekend. So sick that I did not make it to my first service in my new church. When it rains it pours, I guess. And God must have big plans for this new church for me to be under such attack from the devil. I really tried to go to church because a friend had told me that, but it really was not realistic with my fever and chest hurting. So, after being emotionally distraught with the situation with my daughter and taking care of my dog round the clock and not getting enough sleep, I got sick. So, here i am sick as a dog taking care of my sick dog--LOL! Talking about the blind leading the blind--lol! Ok, enough bad jokes now:) , but all I could hear in my head was how --"ok, God I am waiting on you--waiting for you to heal. . . my daughter, my dog, and me"--not very patiently sometimes I might add, guiltily. But, he has been doing all three--little by little in His time, He has been healing Angel, me and in slow but steady ways, my daughter.
Anyway, I found an In Touch magazine(Charles Stanley) at my aunt's today and it was entitled "waiting on God"---Isn't He just amazing? I saw that title and just laughed out loud! How does God do that?!!?  He knows us so well and touches our hearts in these wonderful ways if we are only paying attention. Thank you God for loving us so!
Charles Stanley talks about what patience looks like in the first article and tells us that it takes Faith, Sensitivity, Wisdom, Obedience, Courage, Perseverance, and Forbearance.

Colossians 3: 12-17 tells us that we must be patient in the following ways--"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering (another word for patience); bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
That is alot of verses, but I can make it simple for you. If you let the peace of God rule in your hearts by daily letting the word of Christ dwell in you, you will be able to be patient and longsuffering with others and with whatever God is working on in your life.
Til next time. . .may the peace of Christ reign in your life always:)

Scripture for the day!

I know it's been awhile, but with working extra shifts this week and my dog almost dying, I am now just having a minute to myself. Oh, I guess I should explain about my baby dog, Angel. I came home from my 24 hours shift on Wednesday morning and she was having a massive seizure and a blood sugar crisis. It was devastating needless to say, but my friend Tina helped as she so often does (thank God for her:)) and then I took her to the vet. They think that she had an infection that went to her brain and they were pretty amazing about treating her to a point where she is still alive. I had to bring her home because I can no longer afford the care, but I think God will get us through. She has a long road to recovery, but I do believe there is hope. She is at least partially blind now and still  disoriented and unsteady on her feet, but she is responding when I call her and I am getting some pedialyte in her. But I must get her to eat by herself by tomorrow night, so if everyone could pray I would be very grateful.
Just one more trial to go through. I feel like a new mother of a sick infant. I have been holding Angel like a baby and nursing her to health with medicine and pedialyte most of the day and night. I am getting ready to go to bed myself, but I most get her settled in her crate next to me and have everything she needs at hand.
My only time with God today has been to send up prayers of healing and for strength to keep on keeping on. Forgive me, Lord for neglecting you today. I know you are patient and understanding and I praise you now for letting Angel live and for helping me get through these last couple of days. I praise you for my friends who always help me and support me. I praise you for the doctors and staff who helped Angel. And I praise you for being faithful even when I am not! What Scripture verse is fitting for all I am writing? How about the Psalms? Psalm 139 comes to mind. It is my favorite Psalm and always brings me much comfort and joy:)
The whole Psalm is so awesome, I am not sure what verses to choose, but I know God made Angel too and the verses that reminded me of that were 13 and 14 (but I would take the time to read the whole Psalm)!
Psalm 139: 13-14
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:  Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."

Thank you God, You are Awesome, Marvelous, Everlasting, Faithful, Almighty!

Scripture for the day!

Good morning to you:)

In my daily Bible and prayer time, I was studying Matthew 11: 28-30 and knew right away that  I needed to post this! There is not a soul I know or a soul anywhere for that matter, that doesn't need rest. But, more importantly everyone human on the planet needs God's rest, His yoke, His eternal rest. So, my prayer for everyone today is that you find this rest. If you are already a follower of Christ, I pray that you find your daily rest in God's Word, in your sleep, and from the stress of this life. If you do not belong to Jesus yet, I pray you find His eternal rest and accept Him as Lord and Savior of your life this very day!

Matthew 11: 28-30 Then Jesus said, "Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

I am going to meditate on this Scripture some more before I start my day!:)
God Bless, Jennifer

Scripture for the day!

Hey everybody:)
I hadn't realized that it has been five days since I last wrote a post--OMGosh- I have been so busy! Anyway, I am back on track now and ready to post the Scripture for today!
Today's verse is simple and profound (as are so many Scriptures of course) but this one is like my mantra and my signature verse. As many of you know, I struggle with a tumultuous relationship with my older daughter, Helen and this past week has tested me once again. I have had some wonderful Christian women counsel me on this and speak the truth of God's Word to me, so I am very grateful for them and they are helping me to continue to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God for them all:) So, in light of all that the verse today is Psalm 46: 10 "Be still and know that I am God."
What that means in my life and for the situation with my daughter is that I cannot force the situation with her. I cannot force the healing or the negativity to stop from my ex-husband. God is in control and either I believe that or I don't. And if I do believe it-it means that I must trust that He has both our best interests at heart and He will work things out in His timing. And if I seek His face and pray for peace to help me get through this until the healing happens, He will be with me and guide me and comfort me through it all! I PRAISE YOU GOD FOR THAT !!!!
I hope this example helps you figure out what this verse means for your life:) May God bless you in all you are going through and may you seek His face above all else!

Scripture for the day!

Hey everyone--Went to the new church this morning:) played and sang for worship-I led one of the songs. My official first service is the week after next. I can't tell you how much I will miss Ridgeview and my church family:(
Today went well though-we had a wear your favorite football team paraphernalia day-in honor of the SuperBowl and Pastor Jim's sermon was entitled Extreme Team!
I played on a Casio Keyboard-wow! is that a switch from a grand piano at Ridgeview!

Anyway, two Scriptures for the day, today. The first is from Hebrews 11 and the second is from James--great verses on faith because that is what I am living on right now-Faith! But even more importantly, Faith with obedience through action and deeds! Faith --that God will grow this church , Faith--that He will provide for my needs through serving Him (including supplying a real piano--lol!), Faith--that I will honor Him in taking this leap of faith with the new church plant, and Faith--that my fabulous friends and family from Ridgeview will not forget me, and Faith-that I will continue to grow and mature in the image of Christ to be a light for the lost!

Hebrews 11: 1--"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." When you take a leap of faith you do just that! You are totally trusting in God without any evidence of that what you are about to do will succeed or not ! You trust Him on His Word and His fulfilled promises of the past alone!

James 2: 22 is talking about Abraham and how it was credited to him as righteousness  for his faith had actions. "You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete."
I love the wording of that verse! it is from the New Living Translation--
Have a blessed evening:)

Scripture for the day!

Good Morning everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well this fine Friday morning the Lord has blessed us with. I know I am blessed with so many things :) in particular, my church, my pastor, and my fabulous church family. I just made a decision to take a leap of faith and become a part-time worship leader with a new church plant. I talked to my pastor, Tommy Hargrove about it and it was a conversation that I will always treasure in my heart. Tommy was like a proud parent --he praised me for my past efforts at Ridgeview and showered me with blessings for my future in God's Kingdom. He not only was happy for me and my growth, but he spoke truth about how it's God's church and not his or the new pastor's church where I am going. He reminded me of what is really important--to go where God is leading you and be obedient and that it is all about growing God's Kingdom-not anyone particular church. He was supportive and kind and excited for me and I want to let everyone know how much that means to me. He is such an awesome man of God! Please pray that God will bless him and his family and Ridgeview Church.
Ok-time for the Scripture for the day! I have finished memorizing Deuteronomy 6: 4-9 and have memorized Ephesians 4: 32 (much easier, i might add-lol) It's a wonderfully simple verse about how we are to live as Christ followers.
Ephesians 4: 32 "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God, in Christ forgave you."
Have a blessed day and remember this verse in your daily walk:)
