Welcome to the BlogAboutGod!

This blog is all about God! His character, His promises, His love, His grace, His mercy, and His Son, Jesus Christ. It's a place to learn, ask questions, write the truth about His word, communicate with fellow believers and a way for those who want to learn all they can about our awesome Creator of the Universe and how He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for you and me and save us from our sin. Please be mindful of what you write and ask and let your words always honor the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you are lost and without hope, you can find it here. If you are discouraged with the things the world offers and want something real, you can find it here. If you feel alone and no really cares or understands you, you can find the One who created you here. If you feel like God can never forgive you for the things you have done, you will learn the Truth that He can-- right here. I pray that God will bless what I write so that the hearts of all who read this blog are touched by His grace. I give all the honor and praise to Jesus our Savior. Amen!

Scripture for the Day!

On vacation in PA with my family and closest friend, Lori:) Had a great message in church last Sunday morning on sanctification and what that means for the believer. I think people are sometimes scared of that word cause maybe they don't know what it really means or they think only pompous Christians use that word to sound important or more intelligent than they really are. But, my pastor explained that it is biblical and all throughout the Scriptures and as mature Christians we need to know what it means and start living accordingly. It is interchangeable with holy. Webster defines it as "to be set apart and to be made free from the power of sin." Sanctification is a cleansing from the power of sin and at the same instant being empowered with the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we are set apart. We must be--to be like Christ and show the world His love. We must be better than just average. We must live better morally, love more kindly, and forgive more graciously. We are God's highest form of creation (this is how my pastor worded it)-made in His image. We cannot say we are only human and therefore excuse it when we sin. Now, I am not saying we are not going to sin, but we do have to continually focus on Christ as to not sin as much as possible--we must set ourselves apart to be like Jesus. And when we do sin, we must repent right away and ask for forgiveness. On Mother's day,I did not go to church(you know how it is when you are on vacation), but I did listen to Charles Stanley and he gave a message on leaving a godly inheritance for your children-it was awesome! His main points were as follows: a desire to follow Jesus Christ;a reverence for the Word of God;a pattern of obedience;a faith that conquers;a forgiving heart;a servant's spirit;a generous hand;and a sincere and unconditional love! Wow- that's way better than any amount of money or material inheritance! I will post again when I get back in SC--My love and prayers to everyone!
