Welcome to the BlogAboutGod!

This blog is all about God! His character, His promises, His love, His grace, His mercy, and His Son, Jesus Christ. It's a place to learn, ask questions, write the truth about His word, communicate with fellow believers and a way for those who want to learn all they can about our awesome Creator of the Universe and how He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for you and me and save us from our sin. Please be mindful of what you write and ask and let your words always honor the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you are lost and without hope, you can find it here. If you are discouraged with the things the world offers and want something real, you can find it here. If you feel alone and no really cares or understands you, you can find the One who created you here. If you feel like God can never forgive you for the things you have done, you will learn the Truth that He can-- right here. I pray that God will bless what I write so that the hearts of all who read this blog are touched by His grace. I give all the honor and praise to Jesus our Savior. Amen!

Scripture for the day!

Hey Everyone-I think I have finally figured out the posting comments issue-at least I have on my other blog- femalefootballfans.blogspot.com-so please post comments!

Today's Scripture is something that I heard preached today that really had an impact on me-1 Samuel 3: 10--a very simple verse in some ways, but very profound in another.

1 Samuel 3:10--"Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times,"Samuel, Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears." "

Before I explain the context, let's address the simple and obedient response from Samuel. "Speak, for Your servant hears"-do we do that as Christians today? Do we stop and wait to hear the LORD? Are we ready to listen when God calls or speaks to us? Are we even able to hear His voice among the chaos of our lives, let alone be obedient and willing when we do?
Samuel is set apart for God by his mother, Hannah. She prays to God for Him to bless her with a child and promises that she will give him back to the LORD, if He does. So Hannah dedicates Samuel to the LORD through Eli, the prophet. Eli is Samuel's mentor and he tells Samuel he must listen for God. He doesn't just tell Samuel what to do or what he thinks God is saying. He tells Samuel-he must listen to God's voice and obey Him.
I pray that we all are obedient and willing when God calls us--for an obedient heart is a happy heart.

Great post and blog! I love this post specifically because of its critical importance in our lives. This is key to having a relationship with our Lord. May God call us and may we all answer Him in response. Thanks Jen for your great blog! Bless you and your family!
